Looking to conquer every food truck in Trinidad and Tobago? Here’s another to add to your list. Flame On – based in Trincity, is bringing you heat (literally and figuratively) as they serve up a range of cuisines and flavours.
Owners Vaughn and Salma have always had a passion for food, and want to showcase their culinary skills to Trinidad and Tobago, bringing Flame On to life.
First up we sampled their hearty Lamb and Beef Burgers. Each patty is ground with fresh halal meat, then grilled to perfection. What we like the most about their burgers is that all toppings are included, they’re fully loaded from top to bottom, some of these savoury toppings include homemade mint mayo, pineapple chow, coleslaw, cheddar or goat cheese and your routine basics. These burgers are quite the mouthful, but worth every bite.
On the Italian side of things, lookout for the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich. Chicken is tenderized and seasoned with a parmesan batter, layered with marinara sauce and placed between a sesame bun.
Their Salmon Alfredo will leave you feeling delightfully full. This isn’t your typical runny or out-of-a-can sauce. Flame on creates a creamy, well-seasoned sauce that is then mixed in with penne pasta and topped with pan seared pink salmon.
Last but not least on our sample list is the Chicken and Waffles. From their freshly breaded halal chicken to their pepper infused waffle batter, everything is homemade, which makes you appreciate it much more when eating. Their chicken and waffles are served up sandwich style, with lettuce, tomatoes and a mouth-watering cranberry sauce (also locally made).
If you’re ever craving comfort food favourites, make the drive to Flame On, open on Friday and Saturday from 5:00PM-11:00PM, located at the end of Trincity Boulevard by the roundabout – let them know that Bessguide sent you.
